Officially done with the bouncy chair.

Mom & Dad had better be prepared for me to get into trouble.  I'm ready to pull the heavy breast pump on my head.  

This may be one of the more effective ways to get Brooklyn to nap, but it leaves Kevin & I a little confined.  We are obviously new parents and a child of only one.  In general she's a pretty good sleeper, but as she gets older that instinct to not want to take a nap is kicking in at times.

I can sit up on my own for quite a while now!

 

Look at my cool Keen's.  Maybe a little big, but will protect my feet when we are in warm climates and I want to get on the ground. 

 

 



So dad wasn't home for a few minutes, so Brooklyn & I wanted to show off her skills at standing in the play pen without assistance.  Actually I was able to take this picture & maybe one more before she tumbled down onto her stuffed animals.  Thank goodness there was a lot of cushion & no tears (YEAH!).  

She is almost ready to sit up on her own.  She balanced herself for a few seconds before I caught her on her way down.

It has been very frigid for most of November & December.  The temperatures after Christmas finally warmed up and we were able to have some outside play time with the little one.  Sledding down our driveway was the first activity.  She appears to be a little dare devil and not scared of travelling at higher speeds.  Shiloh was also trying to jump on the sled with Brooklyn and I.

 

 

Brooklyn's exersaucer is her favorite place these days.   It has several different musical noises & songs, which will probably drive us crazy, but she loves to make the sounds.  She has learned that this allows her some mobility around the kitchen.  She is getting such a personality and smiling often at us. 

 

 

Sitting up in her bouncy chair.  I really have to be careful to strap her in when I put her in since she wants to be upright all the time.  In her car seat, bouncy chair or laying on our laps.  No more laying around!
